FIRST BORN AT JUDY MEDICAL CLINIC!

Earlier this month Ruth gave birth to Jeanne (to be called “WJ”). Because this new clinic is able to provide good prenatal care, doctors were prepared to safely deliver the baby by Cesarean Delivery, as it was in a breech position. Both mother & baby are doing well! This was a dream of Sabuli’s––to provide much needed prenatal, maternal and infant care, all to help stop the cycle of orphanhood and infant mortality. Thank you MVPC for this generous gift!

gift from an orphan

This young man grew up as an orphan himself. When he heard about Sabuli’s Children he used his hard earned money to buy rice and beans for the children. He brought them as a gift on New Year’s Day 2020. What a blessing to see God stirring the hearts of young people in the community with this wonderful example of love.

first child treated at clinic

Salome is Sabuli’s first child to be welcomed and treated at the new Dr. Judy Medical Clinic. Salome contracted malaria and his health was failing quickly. For the first time, Sabuli and her staff knew exactly where to bring one of their little ones with an urgent medical need. Salome was immediately welcomed and treatment began. He spent the night at the clinic and is recovering well. This clinic was a generous gift from an MVPC family. It is already changing lives!

thank you from the caregivers!

Max and Lischa shared stories of Sabuli Children’s Center with Max’s church in Germany and with his brother’s school. Christmas gift bonuses were sent to the mamas and helpers and they were surprised and ecstatic. What an encouragement for their commitment to the children. Some invested in goats, some in pots and pans for their homes. and some paid healthcare costs,.

Dr. judy medical clinic - OPENs!

This new Medical Clinic was used in January 2020 by a visiting Opthomologist who offered humanitarian eye exams and surgery. This brought relief to dozens of Gemena residents suffering from cataracts, glaucoma, and eye injuries. There are no other options for comprehensive eye care in this village. This clinic was a generous gift from an MVPC family. It is already changing lives!

christmas day 2019 celebrations

What a surprise for the children and staff on Christmas Day! They throughly enjoyed a delicious meal of goat, pig, rice, pondue, and a rare treat of a soda. This celebration was a gift by our friends in Germany––the Hebel Middle/Secondary School, where Max’s bother, Bernard, is a professor. This was such an expression of love to the children and staff.

rice mill & corn grinder

With the new rice mill and corn grinder, the harvest from Sabuli’s garden will be processed on site. No longer will Sabuli need to pay a fee of 30% of her crop for grinding, using an outside source. Instead, Sabuli will provide this service for others which will result in extra food for the children in the Center. We’ll share a video soon!

arduous laundry

This burdensome and unending task is done by hand using buckets. Those that do the laundry often suffer with skin ailments due to the continual use of soaps and scrubbing. These are the challenges most of us are unaware of. An MVPC friend funded the purchase of a washing machine to launder the daily loads for 85 children! Once the solar system and batteries are repaired, the washing machine will be used on a regular basis.
